Co-organised by Knitwear Innovation and Design Society (KIDS), Hongkong Knitwear Exporters & Manufacturers Association (HKKEMA) and Hong Kong Woollen & Synthetic Knitting Manufacturers’ Association (HKWSKMA), the “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2025” is now open to fashion students and designers aged between 18 and 35 from the GBA Area.
Candidates are required to design 8 sets of knitwear outfit. The 10 finalists will be able to showcase their designs in fashion shows and exhibitions at international fashion events in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and be given the chance to sell their knitwear designs on online and offline sales platforms. The cash prizes of the contest are worth more than HK$50,000, while the winners will enjoy a free study trip to Seoul, Korea.

HKKEMA together with PT101 Fitness and Hygge Living Rehabilitation Centre (Tsuen Wan) , co-organized the “Stay Energetic Stay Young” on 22 March 2025.
The event attracted more than one hundred elderly people to participate. The elderly not only learned home exercise skills, but also received professional health advice from registered orthopedic surgeon Dr. Joseph Jeremy Chang and registered dietician Ms. Joanne Chan, which further enhanced their health awareness.
The event is themed “Stay Energetic Stay Young” and aims to encourage the elderly to develop a habit of regular exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle. The activities are rich and diverse, including:
1. Home exercise instruction: 8 professional fitness coaches from PT101 Fitness will personally instruct the elderly on appropriate home exercises, teach the correct posture and exercise intensity, and help the elderly strengthen their core muscles and prevent falls and injuries.
2. Sharing by orthopedic surgeon: Dr. Joseph Jeremy Chang, a registered orthopedic surgeon, explains the causes and prevention methods of osteoporosis and bone degeneration, and provides practical daily care suggestions. The doctor also held an interactive Q&A session with the elders, answering many questions about bone health.
3. Nutritionist’s Healthy Diet Seminar: Registered dietitian Ms. Joanne Chan shared healthy eating habits suitable for the elderly, emphasized the importance of a balanced diet for bone health and overall vitality, and provided healthy recipes that are easy to make.
4. “KnitWarm” Demonstration: Local innovative technology company “KnitWarm” showcased its heating textiles invented and manufactured in Hong Kong, allowing the elderly to experience firsthand how technology can improve their quality of life. KnitWarm’s products are especially suitable for the elderly to use in cold weather. They can keep warm and promote blood circulation, and are very popular among the elderly on site.
In the event, celebrity guests supported the promotion of community health. The event invited Mr. Peter Hui, Chairman of HKKEMA, Member of the Legislative Council, Hon. Tik Chi Yuen and Hon. Luk Hon Man, Benson, to attend. Mr. Peter Hui said in his speech: “Exercise is vital to the health of the elderly. We hope that through this event, more elderly people will understand the benefits of exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle in the community.” The elderly who participated in the event responded enthusiastically. The event was effective, and the content was practical and close to life, allowing them to learn a lot about exercise, diet, and bone health.

HKKEMA together with the Hong Kong Woollen & Synthetic Knitting Manufacturers’ Association (HKWSKMA) and the Knitwear Innovation and Design Society (KIDS), co-organized the “Spring Dinner 2025″ on 20 March 2025 at Hotel ICON. This spring dinner is the second time that the three associations jointly held the Spring Dinner and cooperated in the industry.
We are honored to invite Ms. SUM Fong Kwang, Vivian, JP, Permanent Secretary of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and Mr. Victor Tsang of the Commissioner for Cultural and Creative Industries to attend the dinner.
The dinner invited Mr. Peter Hui, Chairman of the HKKEMA and KIDS, and Mr. Roger Chan, Chairman of the HKWSKMA, to share the review of the three associations’ activities and look forward to the future. Designers from the “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2024”, including Tong Yali (Yolansa), Yip Yeung Yeung (Bicy), Li Yiu Kin (KIN), Ng Ting Kai (John) and Yau Ka Wai (Kate), were also invited to attend the event and share their design experiences.
